Here's the story behind the song

Growing up, my family's video rental store was attached to our home. It was called "View with McHugh" and that's where my love for movies began. I was surrounded by films and developed a deep appreciation for storytelling. More recently, I've become fascinated about how these movies were written. Reflecting on the common tropes that are so often within these stories inspired me to write "In The Movies". The song is a fun exploration of the gap between what we see in films and the reality of our lives.

I had a blast creating the music video. If you've been to San Francisco recently you might recognize a few areas. I filmed in some of my favorite spots, including the picturesque Great Highway (walkway), the iconic JFK drive, and of course I had to get a Muni bus in there!
