Your joints aren’t stiff — they’re asking for time

Why joints, time, and stillness matter

Heyyy ,

One of the biggest misunderstandings about flexibility is this:

We think stiffness means we should push harder.

But joints don’t respond well to force — they respond to time, hydration, and gentle stress.

As we age, the fluid in our joints decreases. Connective tissue becomes less elastic. When we rush or push, the body protects itself by tightening even more.

Yin Yoga works differently.

We hold simple shapes for longer periods.

We reduce muscular effort.

We let gravity and breath do the work.

This gentle stress supports joint health, connective tissue, and energy flow — without overwhelming the system.

But just as important, it teaches us how to stay present with sensation instead of fighting it.

That skill carries into daily life:

If your body has been quietly asking for a slower conversation, Yin is often the place it finally feels heard.

Tomorrow, I’ll share how you can experience this for yourself.
