Happy June, reader friends!
I hope your summer (or winter, if you're reading this from far away!) is off to a lovely start! I can tell it's going to fly by as my kids and I explore various local parks and pools, I shuttle them to summer camps, and our family takes a few vacations. I haven't had as much writing time as I'd hoped, but I'm trying not to sweat it as I prioritize time with my kiddos before they head back to school in the fall. And I'm happy to report that edits for A Noble Purpose are coming along, with most of my beta reader feedback incorporated. A few more edits / additions to make, another readthrough (or two!), and then I'm hoping to get it off to a proofreader as I dive into the challenge of formatting!
Speaking of A Noble Purpose, we've been revealing the covers for the Cornerstone Series over the past four weeks - aren't they gorgeous?!?!? Seeing the cover for A Noble Purpose for the first time was a jaw-dropping kind of moment. That mountain landscape! That dress!! Patience is not my strong point, so I'm thrilled to finally get to share it with all of you! What do you think?? The books are all arranged by season, starting with spring. And mine is the very first release, coming on October 1st! Eeeeeep! The entire series is available for preorder for just $.99 each - these stories are going to be fantastic!
And there's more series news! It's *finally* time to start sharing about my other secret project!! I'm thrilled to announce that Project Dragon is part of The Intertwined Tales, a multi-author series of clean fairy tale retellings, where each novella entwines a famous fairy tale with a lesser-known story to create one happily ever after. The moment I heard about this series I knew I needed to sign on, and these authors have been fabulous to work with! My novella, The Dancer and the Dragon Speaker, intertwines The Twelve Dancing Princesses with a Russian fairy tale called The Language of the Birds. I can't wait to get back to writing it! Look for cover reveals for The Intertwined Tales throughout July (and in my next newsletter)! Here's a sneak peek...wait until you see the whole thing in all its epic glory!! The Dancer and the Dragon Speaker is up for preorder and releases on December 6th!
Last, but certainly not least...Common is re-releasing on July 9th! Advance copies have been sent out, proofs have been approved, and we're gearing up for the big day! It's been beyond strange to spend the last three months as a published author without a book, and I'm so excited for Leah and Rafe's story to be back out in the world reaching more new readers! If you haven't read it yet, I'd be honored if you'd give this sweet YA fairy tale-esque fantasy romance a try. If you've already read it, I'd appreciate you helping to spread the word about its re-release more than I can express!
Thanks for bearing with me through all these updates and reveals! The next few months should continue to be action-packed, I'm so grateful you're sharing this journey with me! I'd love to hear what you're up to this summer or if you've read any amazing books lately!
Book Spotlights
I read my first Alice Ivinya book earlier this year, and it won't be my last! Cool world-building, complex characters, and an immersive writing style, plus I'm in love with that cover! Stars May Burn just released earlier this month!
Some stars shine. Others cause the world to burn.
A heart-pounding dark fantasy world with clean slow burn romance, perfect for fans of The Starlit Prince, Mistborn, Defy the Night, and Alchemy of Souls.
I've become such a fan of multi-author series as a way to discover new authors while enjoying creative retellings. Have you read any of the A Classic Retold series yet? I love that each author chose a classic novel to retell, and the series has been getting some award recognition lately, especially Break the Beast by Allison Tebo! The entire series is available on Kindle Unlimited.
Who is to say who is the real beast?
Allison Tebo re-imagines the ancient legend of Beowulf in an epic story of redemption and grace in a high-stakes fantasy adventure.
I absolutely adored Unbetrothed by Candice Pedraza Yamnitz for its Latin-inspired fantasy world and swoony romance with so much banter. So imagine my excitement when I heard it's getting a sequel! Especially when I saw the stunning cover!! Candice's Kickstarter for Untamed is starting soon - check it out to find out more and to get a notification once it's live!
