Greetings, friends! How is it the last week of April already? 2024 is flying by way faster than I'm comfortable with, but I'm trying to enjoy the wild ride! And each month brings us closer to all the exciting reveals and books that are coming later this year!!
With so much news on the way in upcoming months, I'll keep this update fairly short. I've been spending lots of time outside with my four kiddos lately, and we survived a week without my husband while he was away at a conference. The enthusiastic cries of "Daddy!" when he came home were just the sweetest :) I've also been doing a lot of...writing!!!! Yay! I finally got far enough with A Noble Purpose (my Christian fantasy retelling of Hans, Who Made the Princess Laugh for the Cornerstone Series) where I could organize it into chapters and figure out what holes needed to be filled. And then I filled them! The story grew by 10,000 words and is COMPLETE! Except for a ton of editing :) I'm having so much fun with my feisty heroine and her grumpy but loveable guard, and I can't wait for you to meet them this fall!
Speaking of the Cornerstone Series, are you so ready to see the gorgeous covers?? We'd really appreciate your help in the cover reveal! All you have to do is sign up on the Google Form and then share the covers and preorder links in June! Information and graphics will be provided, and the covers will be shared in four groups so we don't overwhelm everyone with 16 posts :) Thanks in advance to anyone who's able to help (and enjoy getting to be among the first to see these beautiful covers!)!
May will be filled with end-of-school activities, but I'm hoping to get A Noble Purpose out to beta readers and make lots of editing and formatting progress so I can switch back to writing Project Dragon over the summer! Wish me luck!
- A Noble Purpose / Project Quest: 32,000 words (complete!!)
- Project Dragon: 9,000 words (out of 30,000 words)
There were so many fun relationships to write in A Noble Purpose, including two sisters who share so much love and loyalty. Here's a hint in today's sneak peek (plus a few details about the competition to make the princess laugh)!
I hope you're doing well and enjoying some lovely spring weather (or whatever season it is in your part of the world)! I'd love to hear from you about what you're reading, any prayer requests, or anything else that's on your reader heart! Time for me to get back to editing, I'll see you in May!
Book Spotlights
I've been hearing great things about Hypatia Rae, and her latest book, Blood of the Dragon, just released last week! Just look at all the beautiful details on that cover!
She saved him once and he betrayed her.
Will she risk her heart to do it again?
Book 2 in Beyond the Veil Trilogy is perfect for fans of fairytale retellings including Sylvia Mercedes Scarred Mage or Roseward and Alora Carter's The Awakened Prince. Inspired by Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.
Frost Gate by Hanna Sandvig is one of the next books on my TBR, and it's coming to Kickstarter to fund an illustrated hardcover! How amazing will that be?! I can't wait to see what the reward options will be! The Kickstarter isn't launched yet, but if you click "Notify me on launch" you'll be the first to know when it opens!
A sweet and funny cottage-core fairytale retelling with Snow White, her brooding Huntsman, and their seven...chickens?
