Friends!

If you live in the U.S., I hope you had the happiest of Thanksgivings! Ours was lovely, catching up and laughing with family members we haven't seen in too long and eating SO MUCH delicious food. The only downside was needing to cut our visit short due to some winter weather moving in. But we got home safely and enjoyed the extra day of quiet, so it all worked out :)

I especially appreciated the quiet day because I've been editing like crazy to get this special gift ready for all of you! Palace of Lights, my new exclusive novelette just for you amazing newsletter subscribers, is here!!! Isn't the cover (by Dragonpen Designs) gorgeous?

I originally wrote this story years ago for an anthology opportunity, which meant I had to keep it under 10,000 words. When the anthology fell through, I submitted it to Deep Magic and it was published in their Winter 2019 edition under the title "Fairy Lights." But ever since I got the rights back I knew I wanted to get it out to more readers, and the timing was finally perfect! I've spent the past month making revisions and additions to the story, and I love how it turned out! I even have a sequel / companion story planned to release next year :)

I'd like my FREE book please!

If you'd like to know more about Palace of Lights before diving in, here's the blurb:

Raella has finally achieved her goal of creating a steam-powered carriage. If only her stepmother and stepsisters could see it as an accomplishment rather than a waste of her time. But when a misunderstanding leads a group of fairies to help her attend the royal ball, her own troubles pale in comparison with their desperate plight.

She’s committed to saving the fairies from their controlling mistress, even if it means evading the attentions of the only handsome gentleman who’s ever taken an interest in her mechanical tinkering. But when the mistress of fairies proves crueler than she imagined, Raella realizes that this time her determination may have landed her in over her head.

Palace of Lights is a clean romantic gaslamp fantasy novelette inspired by Cinderella.

Please let me know if you have any trouble accessing the story since this is my first time offering a free story through BookFunnel. I hope you love it!!

And that's not my only new release! The audiobook for A Noble Purpose is now available! Leonor A. Woodworth did such a wonderful job with the narration - she put so much spunk into the banter between Liesel and Breck and warmth into the scenes between the sisters. I've been able to find it on most audiobook retailers (including Libby if you request it from your library!), so look for it on your favorite audiobook site and enjoy!

I'm afraid I was too busy getting Palace of Lights ready to get involved with Black Friday this year, but I'm excited to share that I'm participating in a HUGE Christmas event! It's a scavenger hunt with a daily featured author, a prize each day, and a grand prize winner at the end. Tosca Lee, Pam Halter, Helena Smrcek, Dawn Kinzer, and many more Christian authors from a number of genres are involved - it's going to be so much fun! The event starts tomorrow (Dec 1st), so don't wait to get signed up! Though you're welcome to join the celebration any time throughout the month :)

I hope you have a beautiful December soaking up the joys of the holiday season. Thanks as always for spending a little time with me today! I'm so very grateful for each one of you and your encouragement on my writing journey.

Book Spotlights

Have you checked out A Noble Collection yet? Seven authors from the Cornerstone Series teamed up for this anthology, each with a short story related to their Cornerstone novella. My contribution is a King Thrushbeard retelling in which Prince Carre is on the run after the events of A Noble Purpose and encounters Princess Liesel's friend Lady Ethelde :) It was a lot to pack into short story length, but I had so much fun with it! And now's the perfect time to snag A Noble Collection since the ebook is on sale!

From authors Kirsten Fichter, Olivia Godfrey, Kendall Hoxsey, Abigail Kay, Katja H. Labonté, Laurie Lucking, and Lucy Peterson comes A Noble Collection, a New Adult Christian, non-magical, fairytale retelling anthology.

On sale for $.99!

A Cinderella retelling with swoony forbidden romance, dark curses, and connections to other fairy tales? Clearly I've found a new fairy tale retelling author to watch! To Love a Grimm is the first book in Christina Farley's Fairy Tale Hearts series and just released a few weeks ago!

To Love a Grimm is a standalone, Cinderella romantasy. If you crave forbidden swoony romance, star-crossed lovers, protective heroes with hidden scars, and a heroine who must choose between duty and her heart, you’ll be enchanted by this thrilling tale that ends in a happily ever after.

You know how once in a while a book has such a great premise that you need to know what happens before you've even started the first page? Ocean of Ink is totally one of those books for me! An exclusive academy intent on keeping its secrets, a clandestine society, a girl who must solve the mystery of her brother's death before more students become victims...sounds like an absolute page-turner!

Ocean of Ink is book one of a slow burn romantasy duology set in a dark academy surrounded by magical, deadly waters. If you love mystery, letters, and men who yearn, this series is for you!

First in Duology!

Prince of Chandeliers caught my eye right away with that lovely cover, especially since it fits in so well with the "dark-haired girls in beautiful purple dresses" vibe I had going for my two releases last year :) But the story itself also sounds amazing! A princess with missing memories trapped in a palace filled with chandeliers, riddles, and magical fountains sounds like the perfect combination for mystery, enchantment, and intrigue!

Set in a world reminiscent of “The Twelve Dancing Princesses,” Prince of Chandeliers is a story loosely inspired by Beauty and the Beast and “East of the Sun and West of the Moon,” yet sprinkled with a dash of “Snow White” in a medley of other familiar stories, all the while spinning a new fairy tale of its very own.

Gorgeous Paperback!
