👀 What is a heatstroke?
It’s the most extreme form of heat illness and occurs when the body is incapable of controlling its own temperature.
⚠️ Symptoms
- Feeling unwell even after drinking plenty of water and resting in a cool place
- Feeling very hot, but not sweating
- A temperature of 40 °C (104 °F) or higher
- Breathing too fast or being short of breath
- Confusion, poor coordination
- Headache, nausea, or vomiting
- Loss of consciousness
Heatstroke is a life-threatening emergency; if you think you or someone else may be experiencing a heatstroke, seek immediate medical attention! Call 911 or visit local emergency services.

💦 Keep hydrated with non-alcoholic drinks
🥵 We know that in Mexico it's really hard, but try to avoid hot spicy foods
🌥 Use appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the sun -like UV protection long sleeve shirts- and favor light colored cotton or linen clothes.
🧴 Make sure you protect yourself from sunburn with high SPF biodegradable sunscreen
👒 Wear a hat that covers your head and neck
☀ Avoid peak sunlight hours (11am—4pm)
🍺 Reduce alcohol consumption under the bright sunshine
🚿 Take cold showers as regularly as you can
