Welcome to the Newsletter ,
Although I know you can take things you have bought back to a shop (as long as you take the receipt (1) too, to show that you bought them there, and when you bought them), I have never really done that.
Because I'm a nerd, I do all my research, think about whatever I want to buy and then, if everything feels right, I purchase. So what I buy is usually exactly what I want.
But in the last two or three weeks I've returned things and used the money the shop refunded (2) me to buy other things. Maybe it's becoming a habit...
Each of the times, I was shopping in Obi.
I love walking around Obi. It's fun π. There are things to decorate your home with, plants, tools (3) and more - I get heaps of ideas.
Anyway, recently I've been unsuccessful with a couple of my purchases.
One item that was tricky was a plug (4) for my kitchen sink. It should have been easy. I measured the plug hole before I left home. But it didn't help. The choice was confusing and I ended up with the wrong one. So back I went a couple of days later to get the next size. That one fitted. Yay!
Next, the little corner shelf for the shower. I couldn't even get it to fit together properly, so I returned that, too. However I didn't get another one. Instead I bought something completely different.
Then there was the new curtain rod (5). It was a challenge, because I needed to buy two pieces of rod and join them together.
After a lot of time looking at the items and thinking, I chose what I thought then found an assistant to talk to. I was worried about the length. Should I buy one piece that was even longer?
We decided probably not, but hey, I could always bring one rod back and get a longer one...
But I didn't need to. The first pieces I took home worked perfectly π.
So, I rarely return items once I have bought them, but how about you, ? Do you often take things back to shops, or send back online purchases? Do you have an example from the last couple of weeks? Write a message and tell me.
Good bye for this week,
Andrea

(2) refunded - money that was paid, but is given back.
(3) tools - things that help us do building jobs, for example hammers, screw drivers, saws and drills
(4) plug - thing you put in the hole in the bottom of your sink so that water stays in the sink
