My "new month" officially starts tomorrow. 😂
There's something I do when the 1st of a new month falls towards the end of a week. I simply… defer the new month to Monday. Lol.
So, technically, I am still in the previous month. Please don't disturb me. 😂
But one thing I have already started thinking about is Christmas.
Yes, Christmas. In October. 🎄
Last month, I started having conversations about Christmas wellness hampers. I pitched a client and, if you've been around me for a while, you'll know I've done this before. I put together wellness hampers in 2024 and 2025, using products from my healthy food line and adding other things based on what the client wanted.
December is a high-spending season. Why not position yourself to get a piece of the pie?
I'm not saying you should start another business.
Sometimes, the money is sitting in the middle of things you already know, people you already know, and opportunities you simply haven't considered.
For example, if you know someone who owns a beautiful shortlet apartment, why not have a conversation with them about referring guests for a commission?
Last year, I helped an American couple secure a gorgeous shortlet in the heart of Ikoyi.
I didn't own the apartment.
I didn't manage the apartment.
I simply knew someone who had what they needed, connected the dots, and earned ₦250,000.
That money came from a conversation and a connection.
This is why I think we sometimes need to get a little more creative about making money.
Look around you.
What do people need more of during Christmas?
What are they already spending money on?
What do you have access to?
Who do you know?
What can you package, coordinate, connect, recommend, sell, create or facilitate?
So as we head towards the final stretch of the year, I hope you keep your eyes open.
Be curious.
Be willing to collaborate.
Be willing to make the call.
Be willing to pitch the idea.
And please, don't be too proud to make some extra money when an opportunity presents itself. 😂
Christmas is coming.
