Hi,
More Bad Law on the Way Against Landlords?
As many of you know, the Renters Reform Bill was not a very good idea, and the last government eventually shelved it.
However, many landlords didn't want to wait for the abolition of the Section 21 notice and sold up. Although we warned the government of the consequences of the Renters Reform Bill, it has meant there is a dire shortage of private rental properties because some landlords have already sold up.
Rents have risen sharply in the last 18 months, with some areas increasing to 23%. Due to the sheer number of applicants, letting agents have adopted a bidding process, which fuels rent inflation further.
The government is now toying with the idea of "Rent Control".
All landlords need to keep up with the progress of any changes and be aware of the Pros and Cons of Rent Control legislation.
