Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...

Kingdom Builders: "Builders"

GIVE YOUR KINGDOM OFFERING

image

This message challenges us to be Builders—people who invest in God’s kingdom through generosity, faith, and service. Looking at King David’s example in 1 Chronicles 29, we see how he gave sacrificially to build a temple he would never see, proving that true Kingdom Builders invest in what will outlast them. We are called to be Community Builders, House Builders, and Kingdom Builders—ensuring that God’s mission reaches beyond our lifetime. What kind of builder will you be? Service concluded with our church making their Kingdom Offering for 2025.

GIVE YOUR KINGDOM OFFERING

Weekly Bible Study List

  1. 1 Chronicles 29:1-3 (NLT) – "The work ahead of him is enormous, for the Temple he will build is not for mere mortals—it is for the LORD God himself!"
  2. Matthew 14:17-18 (NIV) – "We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said.
  3. 1 Chronicles 29:3 (NLT) – "Because of my devotion to the Temple of my God, I am giving all of my own private treasures of gold and silver to help in the construction."

The Sunday Outline & Notes

The sermon begins with a humorous but relatable analogy about helping a friend move—only to find they aren’t prepared. This sets up a deeper spiritual truth: many of us ask God to move in our lives, but we aren’t ready for what He wants to do. God desires to bless us, but first, He wants to trust us.

King David’s Example of Generosity

In 1 Chronicles 29, King David, near the end of his reign, takes bold action. Even though he won’t live to see the temple built, he gives everything he has to prepare for it. This shows that real Kingdom Builders don’t just give for their own benefit—they invest in a future they may never personally see.

3 Types of Builders God Uses to Change the World

1. Community Builders

Community Builders focus on investing in the people around them. This year, part of the Kingdom Builders Offering will go toward local outreach, ensuring that students have meals through Convoy of Hope and that Jesus is present in the eight key areas of influence in our society.

In Matthew 14:17-18, the disciples only had five loaves and two fish—but when they gave it to Jesus, He multiplied it. When we give what we have, God multiplies it.

2. House Builders

We live in a culture that loves upgrading homes, cars, and lifestyles—but do we have the same passion for God’s house? David was passionate about building God’s house, giving his own treasures to make it happen (1 Chronicles 29:3).

This year, our Kingdom Offering will strengthen our church home in the following ways:

God’s house isn’t just for us—it’s for future generations.

3. Kingdom Builders

Kingdom Builders don’t just give for what they can see—they sow into what’s still to come. Kingdom Builders think beyond themselves. They fund missions, plant churches, and raise up leaders they may never meet.

This year, the Kingdom Builders Offering will help launch the One City Ministry Academy, a two-year residency program to train and send the next generation of pastors and leaders.

From Sermon to Action

Decide What Kind of Builder You Will Be for One City

  1. Community Builder – Anyone who gives a first time offering or an offering of $100 or more. Every community builder gift supports local outreach and local missions.
  2. House Builder – Someone who gives to the Kingdom Offering and then makes the decision to begin tithing and giving regularly to God's vision. Every house builder supports the funding of our new facility.
  3. Kingdom Builder – Anyone who gives sacrificially above and beyond the tithe. Kingdom builders support the launch of the One City Ministry Academy (OCMA) and the launch of brand new One City campuses in our city.
