I'm transitioning out of teaching and wrapping it all up (for now)

Hi ,

As you may or may not have known, over the last few years I've been experimenting with a few different avenues to try and align myself with a new path. I launched the new FORM NULL project, the Held By Sound project (which I've now stepped back from), and came back for a short stint to teach and create the latest online course because I felt called to share this knowledge with you all.

Lately I've been doing freelance sound design and commission works, which more and more feels like the next step in my journey, and in order to fully dedicate myself to this, I will need to give it 100% of my attention, which means transitioning out of teaching for now.

Whilst this next phase is super exciting, its also a little bittersweet, as I’ve really enjoyed sharing my knowledge with so many awesome producers.

And so I'm writing to you today to let you know that I will be wrapping up with the current students I have now, and ending with the 2x live webinar sessions on the 12th and 20th of May.

If you’re wondering what this live webinar is, because you somehow haven’t received any of my emails over the last month, a few weeks ago I released an introductory portion to an online course called “This Will Change The Way You Think About Sound (Module 1).

This first module gives you the foundational knowledge and mindset shifts that will change the way you approach music production and sound design entirely.

The live webinar is the next 5 modules of this course, but instead of being delivered in the previous pre-recorded format, it will now be over two live Zoom sessions.

You might be wondering, what are the pros and cons of this?

Pros:

  1. Learn live with me (and ask questions live if you have any!)
  2. Meet fellow musicians who are interested in the same topic (and maybe make new friends & possible collaborators perhaps?)
  3. Lower fee than studying privately with me (and lower fee than the original intended pre-recorded course!)
  4. Attend live & receive a recording

Cons:

  1. You hear all the "uh", "ah" and little sounds I make while I’m thinking
  2. The video quality might be a bit lower (but I'll figure out the best way to get as good a recording for you to refer to!)
  3. You might not be able to attend live (but fret not, as you will get the recording & be able to watch it at your own convenience too)

Details about the webinar:

What will be covered?:

Session 1: Creating the Building Blocks

Session 2: Building The Space

When will it be?

  1. Session 1 will be on 12 May 2023
  2. Session 2 will be on 20 May 2023
  3. All sessions will be held via Zoom at 12.00pm CEST, 6.00pm GMT+8, , 8pm AEST

How much will it cost?

Initially I planned on launching the rest of the course on Gumroad for $197 (5+ hours of content, not including Module 1), but in light of recent changes, and to mitigate any disappointment due to this pivot in delivery, I’ve decided to deliver the same amount of content and information in this live webinar setting for $97, saving you about $200++ compared to what it would cost to have 1-on-1 lessons with me.

If you’ve wanted to learn from me in the past but haven’t been able to for whatever reason, now is your chance!

And of course if you haven't gotten the intro course and you'd like to join this webinar, I highly recommend getting it first as it will serve as the basis of everything we will be learning about in the rest of the content planned for this webinar.

You can grab that here.

I look forward to seeing you in person later this week!

Wishing you lots of joy and creativity in your practice,

Arthur
