99c for Clandestine Magic + short story

Hello! Here's that heads up I promised last time: You can now grab the entire Clandestine Magic trilogy and a new short story in that world for just 99 cents.

It's only going to last a few days, a thank-goodness-2021-is-done present for you and anyone you'd like to share it with.

Gimme that box set

The Clandestine Magic series is about Beatrix Harper, an activist with the Women's League for the Prohibition of Magic, and Wizard Peter Blackwell, who comes home to serve as her town's jack-of-all-trades omnimancer.

The timing and his motivation are suspicious. And then he strong-arms her into taking a job as his assistant.

He's lit a fuse he can't possibly control. ๐Ÿ’ฃ

Contents: a warped 21st-century setting that feels like the 1910s, secrets and intrigue, enemies to lovers, wizards with silver hair, long coats that billow in a satisfying manner, found family, band-of-sisters activism, dangerous magic and steam.

Here's what some lovely reviewers said about the series:

"Subversive is the first book in the Clandestine Magic trilogy and when I finished it I immediately one-clicked the next two books." โ€” Smart Bitches, Trashy Books

โ€œA highlight of my very bookish year.โ€ โ€” itsKoo Reviews

"Readers who enjoy fantasy stories with strong female protagonists, magical powers, intriguing political plots, and a great love story will love Subversive." โ€” One Book More

"A spectacular story of magic, politics, social classes, and the uncompromising need to do what you think is right." โ€” Bookshelf Adventures

Many of you have already read it (love you all, thank you!), so I wrote a new short story for this box set with you in mind. It's about the dance Beatrix and Peter didn't get ... and one they did.

One of the new points of view: Mrs. Price, widow of a mill owner and the richest person in town:

How Mayor Croft managed to rope her into sponsoring this frippery was beyond her. Reallyโ€”a dance. Just an excuse for unmarried people to stand too close and flirt and touch.

โ€œTheyโ€™re not going to marry if they canโ€™t fall in love,โ€ the mayor had said. (Love! Hah.)

Heโ€™d worn her down, that was what. She was far too soft a touch. She surveyed the room from her seat of honor at the edge of the dance floor, vowing to put a stop to any improper behavior she saw.

Let me know what you think of the story! (Your replies to my emails come right to my inbox, and I read every one.)

Who's your favorite new point-of-view character? ๐Ÿ‘€

(P.S. This box set starts from scratch like any other book, so if you've been meaning to leave a quick review for the series, this is now the most helpful place to drop it. Thank you for helping other readers figure out if this might be something they'd like!)
