I'm back at the gym:
Watching as one guy has been critiquing two younger guys on their cable lateral raise technique... for 15 minutes.
For a cable machine exercise, I'd say it's overkill. And none of them are big mind you.
Not saying that's the main reason, but it does remind me of what I've been telling you: it's not about technique.
If you really want to grow muscle, you should probably focus on:
- Training close to failure with exercises you're comfortable doing
- Eating enough calories and protein
- Making sure you overload with weights and volume
That's where I see 90% of people make mistakes.
When you do look at a lot of bigger guys, you'll see they often don't seem to have such great technique. But they do lift heavy and train hard.
So keep that in mind.
And just as I'm closing this out. These two kids are now flexing in front of the mirror.
Don't get distracted like them. Just keep pushing. Dr. Muscle automates it for you.
