Dear
Back in March I described how one day when I was out walking, I suddenly found myself in a thunderstorm.
Well, it happened again. This time I was on my way home. I left the U-Bahn station and found that it was starting to rain. As I had my umbrella with me, that wasn't a big problem.
However, the rain quickly became heavier, in fact, it became really heavy 🌧️.
My first thought was just to keep walking - I had my umbrella and home was about ten minutes away. But with the rain as heavy as it was, my legs, shoes and even my skirt were going to get completely wet!
So, I stopped in the next dry place I saw.
Across from me I could see a few people who had done the same thing - stopped under shelter, out of the rain.
But while I was standing, watching the rain, I saw others moving through the downpour (1). Most were on bicycles and I thought of how uncomfortable it must be to ride with wet clothing and the rain hitting your face. I could have kept walking and got absolutely drenched (2) like the cyclists. The decision to wait made the walk home easy and enjoyable.
I'm making some plans at the moment and I think I need to remember the lesson from sheltering from the rain and keep it easy.
Normally when I have a project, I feel that I need to do most of the work. That puts me under a lot of pressure. Often it's a great challenge and it feels really good at the end to see how everything worked out.
But this time I'm going to make things easier. I'm going to get help and not try and do everything myself. I don't want to rush around like crazy and end up super tired. And I really don't want to make any mistakes because I'm tired or because my brain has too many things to focus on and I forget something.
How do you plan a project, ? Do you try and do everything yourself or do you look for an easier, less stressful way? Feel free to share what projects you're happy asking for help with.
Catch you again next week,
Andrea
(1) downpour - heavy rain
(2) drenched - really wet, totally wet
