Hi ,
Due to having free time at the moment, I have been out walking by the Main a lot - and I have been really enjoying it! Especially in the amazing sunshine that we have had recently.
Depending on what I do in the morning, I may not get out for my walk until about lunch time. By that time of day, the worst of the morning chill is over and the sun is starting to feel warm. And in the bright light, the reds, yellows and browns of the autumn leaves look fantastic 🍂.
Yesterday I was out well before lunch, so it was definitely colder. However, there was almost no wind. And that made the water look spectacular! A boat went along the river and caused ripples, which reflected the light as they moved.
I know some of you are thinking, 'Yeah, Andrea the sun-lover. Can we have a new topic, please?'
It's OK, I know the weather we are having at the moment isn't normal for this time of year. Usually there is rain (or at least drizzle) and fog.
And it might surprise you to know that I love being out in fog, too!
Fog seems to bring mystery to my surroundings. What is hidden in the curtain of cloud? Plus the reduced light gives the trees, autumn leaves and buildings softer colours and shapes.
Covering the tops of the Frankfurt skyscrapers, fog can look pretty special. But I think it is also great when it extends down to ground level. I can remember running in the fog both here in Frankfurt and in my city back in Tasmania. It made me feel like I was invisible to others, a ghost silently moving along. Clearly I have a crazy imagination!
However, fog can be a problem when you are driving a car. In Tasmania I sometimes drove through fog at night. When it's thin enough to see through, it isn't too bad. But when it's so thick you have to slow down heaps, then it's not much fun.
So, , what do you think of fog? Do you like being out in it? Have you driven in really thick fog? What fog stories do you have to share?
Wishing you a wonderful week,
Andrea
