Hi ,
Most of the time, I liked going to school. I liked the lessons and learning and being in the classroom. But there were some not-so-nice parts, too.
One of those not-so-nice parts was sports class. I’m happy to call myself a nerd, but I’m definitely (1) not an athlete!
At primary school, sports class wasn’t so bad. Well, there are no super bad things I can remember.
At high school, it was horrible (2) - maybe because all the different sports and activities we did were things I was bad at (things I’m still bad at)!
The other thing that I didn’t like about school was when we changed from primary school to high school. I hated it!!
The classes were great (except for sports class 😑). I still enjoyed sitting in class and learning, so I don’t know what it was about high school that I hated so much.
Maybe it was the size. My primary school was small. There were less than 30 students in my year group. That was small, even for that primary school — most of the other year groups had more students in them.
At high school, there were about 200 in each year group — seven or eight classes. And there were four year groups — Year 7 to Year 10.
Plus the classes for different subjects had different people in them at high school. For example, the people in my Maths class were different to the ones in my English class. Thinking about it now, I don’t think I liked that.
Then for Years 11 and 12, I moved to a new school in a totally new area. I didn’t know anyone.
And to my surprise, it was great!
We were a very small group of students so everybody knew each other. Most of the others had been together all through high school but a couple of us were new. However, that was fine. We quickly became part of the group.
Yes, we were there to study, and we did. But we also had a lot of fun.
